Maddie grew up in Elko, NV where her passion for the beauty industry flourished at a very young age. Maddie always knew this was where she was suppose to be. After graduating from the Aveda Institute Provo where her love for all things hair, makeup, and Aveda grew strong she couldn’t have imagined doing anything else. As a current Aveda cutting coach and certified Aveda color educator, Maddie has a niche for education and loves sharing her passion for the industry with others. Maddie truly lives by the Aveda belief statement “learning never ends” and devotes as much to her education as she can. Whether it’s through her experience in participation at New York Fashion Week or NAHA she loves staying inspired through editorial work and learning new techniques to ignite her craft. Maddie takes so much pride in providing an exceptional service and an experience where her guests feel like they can always be themselves and always feel their best when they leave.

Lyndsey Cortez

Lyndsey is an Elko native where she has worked as a Real Estate agent for the past 8 years. She is a wife and busy Mom of 3! Lyndsey is always looking for adversity and opportunities to grow. She always knew she would love the beauty industry and is so excited she finally just took the leap! She has an undeniable passion for serving people and is excited to share her talent with others! Haley Stednick

Haley is a Nevada Native that moved to Colorado to pursue a lifelong dream of being a hairstylist, at Paul Mitchell the School Colorado spring. After several years in Colorado she continued her career in Germany for two years, and has now returned back home to Nevada to be close to family. She fell in love with the beauty industry from the start 10 years ago and knew it was her calling. She specializes in balayage, and also loves color corrections and creative vivid colors. She has so much passion for continuing her education, learning new techniques, and making sure people feel secure and beautiful in her chair. She adores the connections this career has given her and hopes to create many more!

Carlene Ortiz

Carlene was born and raised in Elko, NV. Since the time she worked in a salon when she was in high school she knew the beauty industry was where she was meant to be. After high school, she attended Great Basin College but quickly realized that doing hair was her passion.She attended and graduated from Oliver Finley and came back to Elko to do what she loves. Carlene loves blonding, all things color, styling, and is excited to further her education in the beauty industry. She loves meeting and interacting with new people and takes pride in her ability to care for her guests. Carlene lives by the quote “In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take”. Skylar grew up in Elko as the oldest of 8 siblings. With 6 girls in the house to practice on, she grew up knowing she wanted to do hair. After a quick career detour into banking after high school, Skylar credits her husband for encouraging her to fulfill her dream and attend Aveda Insitute Twin Falls. She has learned she loves to do big transformations and can bounce between anything from the "lived in" look to vivid coloring. Kyra was born and raised in NV. After graduating at The Salon Professional Academy in Nampa, ID she moved back home to be closer to family and friends. Her passion for hair started at a young age and has flourished since then! She's always up for a challenge and enjoys a wide range of services from blonding, to extensions, to creative haircuts. She loves the variety that the beauty industry provides and is always looking to expand her knowledge! Her goal is to make ever guest feel comfortable, loved, and appreciated!

Vyanca Hawkins

Manager/Creator/Stylist

Vyanca grew up in Winnemucca, Nv. She moved to Elko when she was 17 years old and went to Great Basin College for EMS. Shortly after, she realized her true calling is to do hair and pursue a career in the beauty industry. She finds so much passion in making people feel their best and thought getting her foot in the door into a salon would be the perfect jump start. She started her career at Sand and Sagebrush behind the front desk and quickly became salon handyman, guest best friend, receptionist and salon manager.
